Clinical Design Science: Creating Virtual Environments that Extend Our Skills and Opportunities

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

ROOM 712

Conducting therapy sessions in virtual environments might be an essential component of your career—and your success—in coming decades. Many clinicians are already considering how technology can provide an extension of their skills and treatments. In this session, we will look at examples of clinical software materials that integrate technology and design science. Psychology's design science synthesizes knowledge across schools of thought in psychology and psychiatry as well as bridges core principles of art and design. Are you ready, willing, and able to envision yourself as a designer of therapeutic environments that might compliment the standard in-person therapy session? Attend this workshop, and you will begin to realize how valuable what you know is to the nascent field of clinical design science, and how valuable it could become for you and your clients. No programming experience required!
