Embodied Experience: Expressing Life Stories through Dance

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

ROOM 803

Participants will explore embodied experience through dance in this 80-minute workshop using methods developed in the speaker's work with therapeutic performance facilitation. Discover how playful engagement of body awareness and dance can enliven one's connection to the world and those around them. Life experiences will begin to be expressed through movement and shape, and participants will feel the power of nonverbal communication to express the human condition. Participants will have a chance to perform the dances they have created together, however performance is not mandatory. Both the roles of witness and performer are equally valuable in the process of this workshop. This workshop is accessible for people with no dance experience and will also be informative for people with extensive dance experience.
