Creative, Biopsychosocial & Spiritual Approaches to Addiction Recovery

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The 12-Step program is a valuable tool for addiction recovery, but some patients need additional assistance to maximize its therapeutic benefits. In this all-day experiential class, the presenters will discuss how to develop a multimodal arts program for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. After an introductory survey of addiction and the 12 steps, participants will learn specific techniques and creative activities to aid the patient towards recovery, including movement and dreamwork. Using both biopsychosocial and spiritual approaches, this workshop will demonstrate how practices in mind-body integration can strengthen rehabilitation. The pragmatics of introducing, developing and implementing a viable integrated program in an alcohol and drug agency will be discussed.

NOTE: Attendees are strongly recommended to be psychologically prepared for personal exploration and discovery in this workshop.
