Enhancing Therapeutic Communication, Response, and Interaction through Alexander Technique

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This experiential Master Class is designed to help enhance how you respond physically to your clients. It will show you how to pause, and respond purposefully to whatever overt or covert affect or content comes your way in the course of a session. Observing yourself in this way is inspiring, centering, and helps you maintain both energy and poise. The Alexander Technique focuses on core principles related to moving and thinking that can facilitate choices for positive change. These include concepts such as awareness, inhibition, and direction. Throughout the day, we will work in small groups and pairs, observing ourselves and each other in this process. We will consider our overall tension response, breathing, eye focus, sense of the ground, length of stature, and vocal production. No previous experience is required; dress for a day of moving, and a moving day!
