Positive Ethics: A New, Empowering Approach to Ethical Practice

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

ROOM 710

Ethics training is often experienced as boring, full of legal jargon, and overly simplistic in providing guidelines for managing the complexities of real-life therapeutic relationships. This workshop will provide an overview of three philosophical approaches to ethics and introduce Positive Ethics, a holistic approach to help professionals aspire towards their highest ethical potential rather than simply following guidelines and regulations. Positive Ethics seeks to expand therapist awareness and nurture positive ideals to better integrate the profession's rules with its aspirational principles. After the didactic portion of the workshop, participants will engage in experiential activities to identify their strengths and values as working therapists, then formulate their new ethical visions towards their personal and professional lives through creative writing and artmaking.
