Voicing Positive Change, Sensing Personal Power through the Creative Arts

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

ROOM 714

Our voices are directly related to our sense of personal power and feeling valued. When we are afraid to speak out and our voices are not heard, not only can it negatively impact our lives, but also the lives of others. When we feel free to express ourselves in creative ways, positive change can take place. In this half-day person-centered workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore their relationship to their own voices, and how they are heard by others. Using voice exercises, "Authentic Voicework," movement, drama, and art, participants will experience the power of their voices in a safe and accepting atmosphere. Additionally, we'll explore different ways that working with the voice can be used in the treatment of a variety of clinical symptomatology, including depression, trauma, and anxiety. No prior vocal or musical experience necessary.
